Academic Technology supports several instructional technology programs such as instructional technology equipment, public digital media displays, media services, Moodle, Canvas, ePortfolios, Faculty and Student Help Desks, and college Facebook app. It produces content such as digital display messages, tutorials and videos, and assists with close captioning instructional materials. It provides training on Moodle, clickers, ePortfolios, iPad use, creating reusable learning objects, smart classroom use, media cart use and iTunes U content creation. Academic Technology does research and development into new instructional technology hardware, software, delivery systems and productivity tools. It also supervises the Open Lab in Mariposa Hall. In general, it supports faculty, students, administrators, and staff as it relates to instructional technology at LATTC. Academic Technology supervises the Open Lab in Mariposa Hall, third floor. Academic Technology is creating video libraries for departments with media that streams with subtitles and meets ADA section 508 compliance and can be shared amongst all faculty members.
