LATTC Welcomes Senator Obama

Senator ObamaIllinois Senator Barack Obama made a stop at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College Thursday January 31st during his historic presidential campaign. The senator delivered a speech to an enthusiastic crowd of our college community in Stevens Square. Invited state and local dignitaries joined students, faculty and staff in welcoming the popular senator who took several questions from the audience after his speech. Following his speech, Obama mingled with the crowd and greeted students and staff member

Prior to addressing the crowd, Obama met with LATTC president “Chip” Chapdelaine, LACCD chancellor Mark Drummond, LACCD Board of Trustees president Sylvia Scott-Hayes and several LATTC staff members. The senator received several gifts, including a jacket in the LATTC purple and gold colors with Obama 1 emblazoned on the back.
