It will be a night of stars as the LATTC Foundation celebrates its Annual Gala on Thursday October 28th in the new South Campus area. The evening is being called “Celebrate Education: A Pegasus Experience”, and it will include some amazing presentations and tributes to this wonderful campus and the evening’s honorees. The event is tied to the community viewing of the majestic “Pegasus” sculpture, which sits proudly between the two new buildings in the LATTC South Campus. The sculpture was composed by Trade Tech welding alumnus Gerardo Hacer. The night will also serve to honor four people who have championed education. The first is Tim Leiweke, president and CEO of AEG. Our second honoree is Dr. Chrysotomos L. Nikias, the new president at USC. The third is William Fujioka, CEO for Los Angeles County. The fourth is David Sickler, regional director of the Building Trades Council of California. In addition, Bank of America will be honored as a corporate hero, and we will also introduce our new LACCD Chancellor Dr. Daniel LaVista. The master of ceremonies will be NBC4 weatherman Fritz Coleman. The black tie event will start at 6:00pm. The event is the cornerstone of the re-vitalized LATTC Foundation, now directed by Dr. Rhea Chung. The Foundation provides scholarships and other support to the college. The president of the LATTC Foundation board is Darryl Holter of the Shammas Group. For information on the Annual Gala or to purchase tickets please call 213 763 7166.
