Once again we were fortunate to have reporter Antonio Valverde on campus yesterday from KMEX34, actually combining two separate stories into one nice piece. He has doing a story on folks starting their own business or working for themselves after training here at Trade Tech. He interviewed VP Leticia Barajas after how we help prepare those folks. Then concurrently Steve Kasmar was coordinating a cooking competition in the culinary kitchen at the same time. It was sponsored by the National Honey Board. Our own Trade Tech student Beatriz Argumedo was among the three finalists creating dishes with honey. She battled it out with some students from Le Cordon Bleu and finished second capturing a $2000 scholarship. Congratulations to Beatriz. She was also interviewed in this KMEX34 piece. Her chile relleno plate was spectacular! (I should know I was one of the judges!)
