President’s Weekly Message

This is Go Week, and for continuing students, welcome back and we are glad you are continuing your educational pathway toward completion.
For the students who are attending LATTC for the first time, we extend a personal welcome to our campus. We are committed to your success, and we will do our very best to make sure your student experience is positive and inspiring.
BRIDGE TO SUCCESS – ONE-STOP FOR SUPPORT
One of the locations where you can get questions answered quickly is the Bridges to Success Center in Mariposa Hall, Room 105. All of our services are available this week, and we are ready to provide assistance. We have information booths outside of Mariposa Hall and Juniper Hall all week, so come on up and ask your questions or look at the list of open classes. Check the flyer below for locations and information on the range of services on our campus.
ASO WELCOME WEEK
The Associated Student Organization, which is your student voice on campus, is will be setup outside of Mariposa Hall all week with giveaways. Stop by and meet your representatives and advocates.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SIGNED UP FOR GRAD GURU
In addition to the in-person support you can receive in Bridges, you can also find important academic deadlines online at: http://college.lattc.edu/oac/calendar/. You can also keep up to date on key deadlines on your mobile phone by downloading the FREE Grad Guru App today! (Available for Apple and Android). You can add dates/deadlines directly to your personal calendar, get helpful tips and guidance – all geared towards helping you stay on track!
ANOTHER NEW SERVICE FOR INTERESTED STUDENTS
We are excited to bring additional services for reentry students including academic and support services, expungement services, job fairs, student peer support and referrals to LATTC programs and resources. We are also working in partnership with several community-based agencies that serve this community of students. If you are interested in learning more about these programs and services, you are invited to attend the Reentry Program Orientation.

AA IS A RECENTLY DEVELOPED EFFORT BY STUDENTS FOR STUDENTS
Every Wednesday at 1:30pm, an AA meeting takes place in the Bradley Center for Student Life, Room 205, formerly Redwood Hall. If you are having any issues with addictions, you are welcome to come on by.
LABOR DAY HOLIDAY
Just a reminder that one week from today, Monday September 3rd is Labor Day. It is a campus holiday. There are no classes and no services that day. If you have a class that meets on Saturday, September 1st, the class will meet as scheduled. Enjoy the day off, and we hope you get a good start on your classes.
