Monday, April 22

VOICES OF OUR STUDENTS

A professional development presentation followed by an open panel discussion with LATTC Amaranth Club reentry students, who will share their experiences, challenges and triumphs related to their journeys from prison or jail to college, as they work to reach their educational, career and life goals. This presentation and interactive panel discussion will include opportunities for dialogue between the students on the panel and the audience.

Time/Place: Aspen Hall, Room TE-101 – 9:00am – 12:00pm

Who Should Attend: Administrators, faculty (FLEX credit available), staff and fellow students.


Wednesday, April 24

VOICES OF THE COMMUNITY PARTNERS

On one panel, hear from community-based organizations who will share information about the valuable resources, innovative programs and support services for the reentry community in Los Angeles. On another panel, you will hear success stories from formerly incarcerated students who are now employed or who are successful business owners and entrepreneurs. Question and answer sessions will follow each panel discussion.

Time/Place: Aspen Hall, Room TE-101 – 9:00am – 12:00pm

Who Should Attend: Students, counselors, and other staff interested in resources for our reentry students


Thursday, April 25

PUTTING VOICES TO ACTION

We will host a campus job and resource fair, in partnership and collaboration with the LATTC Career Center, LATTC Vernon-Central WorkSource Center and community partners; this fair will provide students the opportunity to meet with potential employers, learn about business opportunities, and access community resources.

Time/Place: Aspen Hall, Room TE-101 – 9:00am – 12:00pm

Who Should Attend: Everyone


Friday, April 26

PROP 47 EXPUNGEMENT CLINIC

Trying to get a job & need your background cleared? Stop letting a criminal record be a barrier to your success. Speak with a legal professional regarding your options. Begin the expungement process the same day.

Time/Place: 10:00am – 2:00pm ASO, Room, C-105
