Chemical technicians play an important role in a variety of industries, performing chemical testing, assisting chemists, chemical engineers, and other professional specialists. The Chemical Technology program at LATTC is the oldest and most successful training program in the western United States. The program was developed and approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS), University of California, Berkeley, and local chemical industries.
We train our students by using a hands-on approach to learning. Students use state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation. Graduates of the program are employed by health and environmental services, waste water treatment plants, environmental and forensic laboratories, oil refineries, pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies, aerospace, biotechnology, and many other industries. Students may earn a certificate or an Associate of Science Degree. Graduates may select from many job offers, and typically entry-level salaries range from $30,000 to $60,000 per year.
