  • I’m not enrolled in LATTC. Where do I begin???
    • You are going to start in the Bridges to Success Center in the Mariposa Hall building.  Everything starts here.  Click HERE for the Bridges to Success Center.

 

  • How do I make an appointment or see a counselor?

  • How long is the cosmetology program?
    • The cosmetology program is 2 yrs. long (4 semesters).  The core program only runs during the fall and the spring semesters. 

 

  • How long is the esthetician (skin therapy) program?
    • The esthetician program is 1 yr. long (2 semesters).  The core program only runs during the fall and spring semesters.

 

  • Where is your office located?
    • We are located in the Magnolia Hall Building in room 241.  That is on the second floor in the west wing.  Click HERE for the campus map.

 

  • Do I need to attend a Cosmetology Dept. orientation?
    • YES! It’s HIGHLY recommended that you do so.  We have 2 orientations before the Spring and 3 before the Fall. The dates are updated on our website.  These orientations will explain everything in detail in regards to the programs, the first day of school, fees, regulations, books, kits and other pertinent information.

 

  • Do I need to be in uniform the first day of class?
    • No.

 

  • When does the cosmetology program begin?
    • The cosmetology program begins at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters at the freshman level.  You can enter during either one of these semesters.

 

  • When does the skin therapy program begin?
    • The skin therapy program begins only in the fall. 

 

  • What materials are needed for the cosmetology program?

  • What classes are needed for the cosmetology program?
    • Our cosmetology program has 48 units and you are taking 2 classes per semester (8 classes in total). Please click HERE to review the college catalog for classes in the cosmetology program.

 

  • What classes are needed for the barbering program?
    • Our barbering program has 48 units and you are taking 2 classes per semester (4 classes in total).  Please click HERE to review the college catalog for classes in the barbering program. (under Cosmetology)

 

  • What classes are needed for the esthetician program?
    • Our esthetician program has 24 units and you are taking 2 classes per semester (4 classes in total).  Please click HERE to review the college catalog for classes in the esthetician program.  (It’s under Skin Therapy)

 

  • What are the times offered for the programs?
    • The cosmetology program has 2 sessions: The day session is Monday – Thursday from 7am – 1:30pm and the evening session is Monday – Thursday from 4:30pm to 9:15pm with a Saturday class from 7am – 1:30pm.
    • The skin therapy has 1 session: Monday – Friday from 10:00am to 3:15pm.
    • The barbering program is Monday thru Thursday from 12:30pm to 7pm.

(Please note that these are SET schedules that will not change to accommodate your personal time/job, etc.)

 

 

  • Do you have teacher trainee program?
    • No

 

  • Does financial aid cover the program?
    • Yes.  Please fill out the FAFSA form even if you feel that you don’t qualify.  You may be entitled to a fee waiver.  Please click HERE for more information.

 

  • I’m a veteran.  What do I need to do to enter the program?
    • Please click HERE and send an email or message to the veteran’s center.

     

  • Do you have a manicuring program?
    • No.

 

  • What is your passing rate?
    • Please check the California Board of Barbering for this information.

 

  • I’m currently licensed.  Do you offer refresher courses for licensed cosmetologists?
    • No.

 

  • I’m an out of state new student.  What is the protocol to enter your program?
    • You will start with the Bridges to Success center.  Please click HERE for out of state fees.

 

  • I’m out of the country.  What is the protocol to enter your program?

  • I’m transferring from another school.  What is your protocol?
    • We only accept up to 300 clocked hours from a college credited institution (e.g. Santa Monica Community College, Cerritos Community College, and Pasadena Community College).  We do NOT accept hours from private institutions (e.g. Marinello, Paul Mitchell, and Palace Beauty College).  We are a college credited institution where you are earning hours AND units and our core programs are taught on a semester basis. 

 

I’m transferring from another school.  What is your protocol?

  • How do I pay for classes, is there a payment plan?
    • Please contact Admissions and Records for this information.  We do not process payments or have a payment plan.  Please click HERE

 

 

  • I am currently licensed (barbering, cosmetology, esthetician, manicurist) do you have any crossover courses?
    • We currently do not offer crossover courses for students to obtain additional hours for another license. Please check with STATE BOARD in regards to crossing over to obtain an additional license.

 

 

  • Do you offer job placement?
