

In Fall 2009, 10 counselors, 12 faculty, and 3 student mentors have joined together to offer hundreds of students at LATTC a focused, technology-driven, creative-based, student success enhancing, first year experience. Students enrolled in selected sections of English 64 and 21, Math 105, Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, Welding, Fashion Design, Transportation, Electrical Construction and Cross Country/Track will be involved in a variety of activities that will enhance their creative juices, hone their critical thinking, and help them develop the skills and habits necessary to navigate college life.

Members of LATTC’s FYE project participated in the District Academic Senate Summit on October 2, 2009 at LAVC. David Robinson, instructor in the Electrical Construction and the faculty mentor in the Electrical Construction FYE group has created a number of videos that capture his presentations to the class as a whole. Students can now review the instructions outside of class for review. [FB 134503737735]
