Green Summer Youth Program

Posted on 15. Jun, 2009 in News

LATTC’s Division of Workforce and Economic Development will launch the Summer Green Jobs @ LATTC focusing on Utilities and Green Construction funded by the City of Los Angeles.

Students will be paid to work 120 hours in addition to taking 3 units of coursework at LATTC. Interested individuals must meet the following requirements for program eligibility:

  • 18 to 24 years of age (HS graduates under the age of 18 are eligible as well)
  • Live in the City of Los Angeles
  • Have legal right to work

As part of the program, students will enroll in a minimum of 3 units in Weatherization Training, Green Construction and or/Cooperative Education. The program starts July 6th and ends August 31st. Although priority will be given to LATTC students in the First Year Experience and students impacted by the Summer Session II class cancellations, all interested individuals who meet the requirements are encouraged to apply given the number of openings.

Students must attend an orientation this Thursday, June 18th at 5pm in the LATTC Cafeteria (Building H). Space is limited. Students will be paid and earn valuable work experience.

Students can register for the orientation at our LATTC website, http://college.lattc.edu/bridges/summer-youth-employment-program/. It is important that students sign-in via the weblink as they will need to bring documentation to complete the application process.
