Founded in 1925 as the Frank Wiggins Trade School, Trade-Tech is the oldest of the nine, public two-year colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District. *
Student Demographics: The most current demographic information can be found on the website of the Office of Research & Planning* at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. Nearly half of all Trade-Tech students work more than 30 hours per week an approximately this same percentage indicate that they are attending the college for job preparation.
Service Area: The entire 882 square mile Los Angeles Community College District.
Tuition and Fees: TradeTech College offers one of the lowest enrollment fees in the country. California residents pay $20 per unit. Nonresident fees for students from other states are an additional $173 per unit + enrollment fee of $20 per unit. Students from other countries pay an additional $183 per unit + enrollment fee of $20 per unit and $10 per unit fee. There is also a mandatory $11 Health fee ($8 in the summer) and a mandatory $1 Student Representation fee. Students may also pay a $7 Associated Students Organization membership fee.

Courses Offered: All academic courses required for transfer to a four-year college or university as well as nearly 90 different occupational programs, some of which can be completed in little as one year.

Facilities: Trade-Tech is unique in that approximately two-thirds of its instructional facilities are devoted to career education. The college consists of 12 major buildings with approximately 780,561 gross square feet and 586 assignable square footage. The facilities include an athletic field which serves as a recreation area for community members during evening and on weekends. The college's Grand Theater hosts both college and community events.
