Services Available for Students to Succeed

If you are a new or returning student, these are the steps you need to take to get started at LATTC:

You may  apply using Los Angeles Community College District’s Online Application. If you need assistance with submitting your application you may stop by the Bridge to Success Center located in the Mariposa Hall building room 105.

2. Financial Aid (213) 763-7082

Apply for financial aid on-line at Our federal school code is 001227. If you are an Undocumented student you can apply for financial aid at www. If you need assistance with filing out the financial aid application please stop by the Financial Aid lab located in the Juniper Hall building room 314.

4. Orientation (213) 763-5560

Orientation presents important information about the college programs, policies, procedures, and services. Orientation also helps you to better understand the college Catalog, Schedule of Classes, and plan a course of study. You may completed Orientation online at or schedule an in-person New Student Orientation session to complete Orientation, Assessment and Counseling all in one day. You may sign up for an in-person New Student Orientation online at

3. Assessment (213) 763-5339

Assessment is required for all new students unless they are exempt*. LATTC offers assessments for English, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Math. Please visit the Assessment Center Website for your assessment walk-in hours.

5. Counseling (213) 763-5560

Meeting with a counselor before registering in classes provides you with an opportunity to review your educational goals, research majors, plan courses, and develop a Student Educational Plan (SEP). The Counseling Department also offers courses, which assist students with student success strategies, learning and study skills, AA degree and transfer planning, career development and internships, conflict resolution skills and behavior management. 6. Pay your registration fees at the Business Office.

7. Follow-up

After enrolling in the first semester, you will continue to receive follow-up services such as choosing a major, preparing to transfer, further developing an SEP, and earning an Associate’s Degree and/or Certificate through the Counseling office. It is advised that you meet with a Counselor at least once a semester.
