Mission Statement

In keeping with our LATTC Strategic Plan and in compliance with the Basic Skills Initiative, The Reading Center is working to provide reading services across all curricula for our students and the surrounding community.  We aim to:

• Enhance reading skills for Basic Skills, Transfer, and CTE
• Offer reading strategies in a secure and enjoyable environment
• Support professors in their disciplines and research and implement up-to-date materials and software
• Provide an interdepartmental synergistic philosophy for all at LATTC
• Help ESL students to develop confidence, effectiveness, accuracy, and skills in verbal and written communication that would provide them with the necessary tools to succeed in the college environment
